New Jersey Online Casino Gambling Bill Stalled

In 2011 New Jersey Governor Chris Christie signed into a law
a bill that would legalize online casino gambling in his state.
Yet 3 years later the law is yet to take affect and it is a portent
of things to come in the industry as the dinosaur gambling industries
                try to fight the future.

The horse racing tracks in the state of New Jersey have been
adamantly opposed to the New Jersey online casino gambling bill
and it should not come as a surprise. The horse racing industry
continues to be battered by horrible attendance and a declining
fan base that now has many more gaming options than in the glory
days of horse racing when it was the only game in town as far
as legalized gambling. The industry is hanging on for dear life
as it has little appeal to the younger generation that does not
want to wait 25 minutes between 2 minute races and needs constant
action that only online casinos can deliver. Further the horse
racing tracks want to use traditional gambling methods such as
slot machines so that fans have something to do between horse
                races.

The brick and mortar casinos of New Jersey have also taken a
beating in part due to the slow economy but also because of better
                options such as online casinos.

There will certainly be similar battles in the years ahead as
the past forms of gambling fight the unstoppable force of online
                casino gambling.
