A game very similar to blackjack that can be played at the online casino is pontoon. It has the same goal of getting as close to 21 without going over but there are some differences from blackjack.

In pontoon, the dealer has to hit on 16 and soft 17 and stand on hard 17 and over. Players must hit on 14 or less. Players can double at any time on hard hands but not on soft hands. Players can split two times at the most and dealer wins ties. A pontoon is an ace and face card or ten and pays 2-1 as does a 5 card hand totaling 21 or less.

With online pontoon, players place a wager and two cards are dealt to the player face up while the dealer’s two cards are dealt face down.

The hand ranks in pontoon are a little different with the ace and any face card the best followed by a pontoon which is any 5-card hand that has not busted, a 4 card hand that has not busted and then normal counted hands.
